A Night At James’ House

(Thank YOU Emerald Video Transfers for the fabulous job you did converting this old footage to digital)

This was the second moving picture I made, it was shot on VHS videotape by my friend from The Vogue nightclub, Kurt Graham. The first one. made was when science expert Michael Holder and I were still at Samammish High School, was called “Lissajous Fingers”. That one was a synthesizer and ocscilloscope 16mm film which was shown at the Seattle Opera House for parents night from our Bellevue School District 405.

James “Babyteeth” Carbo is a friend of mine I’ve known since my senior year in bhigh school, I met him thru a new friend at the time, Robby Stoneman. James’ house was an important party/hangout/music center in punk rock / new wave Seattle, years before the “grunge movement” was born. I am very glad to have some footage and light from the people in our friendship circle, as well as the provocatively decorated walls there. Welcome to A Night At James’ House!
